PLM Slicer version 0.9
Slicer is a simple tool to split big files in smaller files, and to merge small files together to restore the original file. The new interface allows to perform additional operations such as renaming or deleting files, and moving or copying them into another folder. Two versions are currently available: for Linux and for Windows. Both are using the FOX toolkit. Example: let's call [name] a big file that you want to cut in pieces to copy them onto floppy disks. Then the small files created by Slicer will be named [name].000, [name].001, ... and so on. Later you can select the .000 file, and all other files generated with it, and run the merge command to recreate the initial file. Another feature allows to extract a specific part of a file. You can choose the starting offset and the length in bytes of the data you want to extract.
Slicer interface is very simple to understand and to use.
At the top of the window, you find a text box that contains the current path, whose content is displayed in the main list just below. Under the list, the navigation buttons on the left will change the current directory, the operation buttons in the center will cut, concatenate or extract data from the current selected file (in the list), and finally the last button on the right will quit Slicer. Here you can see the Split dialog:
