Colorization is a simple strategy game based on territories and tiles of different colors. Each player has his own color and his own territory and his main goal is to make it grow to get the biggest one. The game field is in fact a 2D grid of tiles of random colors. Each turn, each player has to select one color (not a player color). All the tiles of this color that are all around (or inside) the player's territory are then absorbed and turned into the player's color. The following screenshot should help you to understand:
Players are red and blue, and all other colors are free tiles, that players can absorb. For example, the red player should probably select light green. Some tiles have a black cross on them (in the center of the screenshot), they are called "special tiles". When a player absorbs one or more special tiles, some random effect is executed. These effects can be as well positive as negative for the player. Special tiles are described below, but know that you can select which effects you want in the settings. There is only one rule in this game : you can not select the same color two consecutive turns. In other words you can not select the same color as the last turn. In fact this is more likely to help players to avoid them selecting a useless color, since if you have already absorbed all tiles of one color, then you can not have any tiles left of this color to absorb on the next turn. This may become annoying only with some special tiles.
This game is completly customizable, so that you can choose the settings that best suit what you want. Here are some of the main parameters you can modify :
There are exactly 10 different types of special tiles, only the most interesting are presented here.
You can select which types of tile you want to find in the game, and how many of them (total). The types are selected randomly, though.
