Projet G1

Game description

G1 is a little race game. Our main goal is to keep it simple but very fun. You can play alone (against 1 to 5 computer controlled opponents) or with some friends over a network.

But now, let's look at some screenshots :

Player settings
Player configuration screen. Here you choose your player name and colors, your key bindings, and of course your car.

Hardware settings
Hardware settings. Here you set the global options for video and audio hardware. You can also change the language.

Game settings
Session configuration. Here you set the game options like the number of laps, the number of opponents and the difficulty. You also choose a list of circuits.

First person view
The game itself. The camera is configured in "first person" view mode. The yellow bar (bottom right) is the fuel gauge, and red one is the car's health.

Third person view
The race. The view mode is now "third person", you can see your own car. The green star on the ground is the next checkpoint.

Nothing to download at this time, sorry.

Extensions

The editors (OpenGL binaries for linux and windows) and the model exporter (a python script for blender) will be available for download when the game is ready. So users will be able to create new circuits and new vehicles. A tutorial (HTML format) will explain how to use these tools. A dedicated page page will be added to download and submit new circuits and vehicles.

The only restriction will concern buildings, since the set of buildings used in all the maps (including trees, walls, ...) must remain the same for all the players. But packages will be regularly available to download to extend the list. Feel free to submit your creations.
